Bloodmines on Countdown

It has been a month since release and to celebrate, I have put Bloodmines on Countdown.  It will go from .99 to 1.99 to 2.99.  This is only in the U.S. at this time.   I have one scheduled for the U.K. at the end of the month. So far, Amazon does not allow countdown in other countries. I am not sure if this is due to complications in taxation and accounting or why.

It has been a great month with some great feedback.  I have it in audio production and the new narrator is very good at character differentiation.   I look forward to writing more for you and a wonderful year in 2015.  So far, it looks like it will be Cancer free.

Corrected Error in Formatting

Thank Goodness for Honest Reviewers!

About a week ago, I had updated the e-book version of Bloodmines on kindle. Apparently, and by my fault, (still don't know how)  I ended up with a duplicate of Ch. 16 and no Ch. 17.   Needless to say, much egg is on my face.

I have asked Amazon if they can send everyone who purchased or borrowed the book the updated copy.  I don't know if this will be possible.  In the short week it was up with two ch. 16s and no Ch. 17, I sold about 500 copies.  If you received one of these copies, please email me at dragonsgeas@gmail.com and I will send you the missing chapter.

However, I am very hopeful that Amazon will just send out or let you know that  the version has been updated.

My sincerest apologies to my fan base.  This is an error that will not happen again.

Yours in creativity,
Cheryl Matthynssens

Position Open for Sheriff - Live Writing Exercise!

The sound of the creaking wood and the rhythmic tapping was the first of Brandwil's realizations. The second was the fact his hands were chained above his head to a wall.  Confusion surged through him as he groaned.  The third realization as that his chest was on fire and his head pounded with a deafening headache.  It seemed to surge with the tapping that seemed close.

"Hello?" he called.  He used his arms to try to work off the blindfold that he could feel on his face.

"Ah yes, he awakens." The voice sounded weak and old.  "Such timely coming you have made."  The hiss of the voice made it somewhat ominous.

Brandwil tried to recall how he had come to be here.  He had been out at the Jensen's homestead. There had been three children dead with no signs of what had caused their demise.  The only thing Mrs. Jensen had been able to tell him was that the children had spoken of a strange nest they had found the night before.  Despite the level of her grief, Brandwil had been able to get from the distraught mother the directions the children had spoken of before they went to bed.

Free to Wander - Live Writing

"Thief!  Guards, Guards!"  The vendor pointed at the young woman as she meandered through the market stalls.

Abrya took no note of the man's shouting.  She was sure what ever thief was about would soon be caught.  No, today she was in amazement.  Last night she had received her full name, Abrya Moonsong.  Today, was her first day to wander on her own.  She had never been so excited in her life.  Many did not get their first wander in a city.

The caravan traveled across the lands going where ever the dragons led them.  Lately, it seemed as if they would wander alone in the wilds, forever.  The caravan had been going north for a month now. She had no idea what lay north but the dragons were all headed that way.  Usually the caravan stayed in the warmer southern lands.

Abrya cried out in fright when a large metal hand grabbed a hold of her arm.  She looked up to see a large man with a mostly metal face.  Her fear instantly forgotten, she attempted to reach up to touch the metal over his nose to see if it was riveted into his skin.

A Dragon's Menhir - Live Writing

Nate hit the cold dark marble floor as the two guards tossed him forward.  His hands were bound behind him, so he was unable to catch himself.  The throne room of Jesparian Nethandial was not a welcome place as he managed to pick his head up enough to look about.  The pillars, the floor and even the walls were lined with the same black stone.  The trimmings were all in blood red and the only brightness to the vast room was the crackling fire behind the dais.

Nate did not dare to pick up his head any higher to look upon that dais.  The only sound was the rustling of the two guards, the crackling of the fire, and his own labored breathing.  Fear made his heart pound as an additional sound was slowly added; a slow determined step.  The sound of boots slowly making their steps down from the dais above him till at last he could see the toes of them shining in the torch light just inches from his face.

"Raise him up." The command was curt and held no warmth.

Nate cried out as his hair was grabbed by one of the two guards and he was jerked to his knees. Despite being fully upright now, he kept his eyes down cast.  He wanted to give this man no reason to cause any further harm to him.

"Look at me boy."

The Jeweled Serpent - Live Writing!

"He went this way."  One of the guards pointed down the darkened street of Drygate.

"You had best be sure," the second guard snarled.  "If he gets away, it will be us on the stone for certain."

Neither took note of the old washer woman, bent with age and struggling to hang her wash.  The two men hurried down the street looking for their prey.  The woman watched till they turned around the corner then pulled a bag from beneath the wet laundry.

Khor had not had long, but the old woman had been more than happy to let him hang her laundry in exchange for the use of her cowled cloak.  He slipped back through the stone door and winked at her as he handed her the garment.  "I hung a fair bit of it.  You take care, elder.  I would hate for you to run a foul of those guards."  He slipped a piece of medure into her hand.  "That should keep you fed for a good while.  Just tell the trader, you found it in the sewer."

The woman looked up at him; her eyes blank from years in the dark underground city.  "You be the one best be careful.  The priests' guards do not give up easily, and there is but one way out of the city."

"I will try to avoid their arms."  Khor  kissed her hand gallantly and after checking the street, slipped out the door.

Cancer - A Poem

Fight for a Life

A silent stalker moved in shadows,
My life it hoped to steal.
I did not know it followed close,
To me it was not real.

There came a day it took a stab,
It's presence fully shown.
It closed its grip around my life,
If I had only known.

It laughed in mocking evil,
As I began to gasp.
It's mocking tone was in my ear,
My life was fading fast.

A knight with scalpel and fierce thrust,
He beat the stalker back.

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR BOOK FOUR TITLE!

Readers and Fans - Vote for Book Four's Title

Well book three is out and I am already plotting out the chapters in book 4.  Loosely plotting - Alador and Keensight sometimes take off into a right field.  There has been great debate amongst my beta readers and my editors on the title for the next book.  One of my editors suggested I put it to reader vote.  I love this idea.  So, I am calling on all my Blue Dragon's Geas fans to help me vote on the book title for the fourth novel.

What should the title of the next Dragon's Geas book be?
Dragonish Deception
Perfidy - (deliberate breach of faith or trust)
Pseudo-Dragon
Treachery
Deception
poll creator

My only problem with the last two is there are numerous books out there with these two names.   I will give no other input.  Once you have read the first three books, please cast your vote.  I will go with the majority.  Voting closes on February 15th, 2015.
Thank you for all your support!

A New Year - New Goals!

I have been at a loss as to what goals to set for this year.  I am still under 50 and currently have everything I ever dreamed of for my life.  Well, I don't own this property I am on, but I love it here.

So, I decided I would set my writing goals which seem much easier.

In 2015, I want to do the following:
